As far as I remember, DB had gotten a copy of the King James Version of the Bible and intended on reading it from cover to cover. His Bible stories are a result of that. That's just going from my, occasionally faulty, memory. I thought that particular story was quite succinct the way he told it and captured the spirit of it nicely. The Mars thing was interesting.
