A connection with the elders of any people is good.

I have met the nobility type before and there seem to be 2 types. One type believes they are entitled to special treatment because of the family they were born into. The other type begins life being told, that but after they spend time with real men doing real, valuable work, they grow up and are productive and useful and can become strong and helpful allies. I hope this is his case. The other man seems to be a spy of some sort or other and bears watching.
