Brothers Campfire Renewed Strength and Benchmarking Pancakes

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

Yesterday was a mental health day of sorts. Typically, I am rushing around trying to be productive in an accomplishment sense, but I took it easy. After dropping off some fine individuals to school, I did a little shopping with my Beloved and we went to the International House of Pancakes or IHOP.

My Beloved

The culmination of the dental work, leaving a job I have been at for a decade, some heavy physical labor, and preparing my heart for Communion slowed me down more than I expected, but did not stop me.

I took the day to evaluate direction and priorities, and I benefited from it. Tomorrow is a fresh start of sorts in my new role and benchmarks have merit.

Today is the last day on my current job assignment and it has been a journey, some of it extreme enough to be public record.

I feel fresh and relaxed. Taking the day off to reflect, rest and unwind were beneficial and I have renewed strength. The Bible speaks of this.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 KJV

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28 KJV

In my new role, I look to wait on God and trust him more. I am confident good things are about to happen.

Everyone can benefit from a mental health day from time to time. Slowing down for reflection is good for the soul. Stay well. Allan

I haven’t eaten at IHOP in quite some time. Now the the pandemic restrictions are loosening, I’m hoping to get out more.

My husband has so many co-morbidities that the virus could very well do him in if he caught it, so I’ve had to be careful. But, we’ve both had our vaccinations now (me, somewhat reluctantly) so we’re pretty well good to go.

You totally deserve a day (or two or three) of rest. Stretch out, relax and enjoy the sound of your own breath.
