Brothers Campfire Nicholas Prepares Northwich -An Ongoing Tale Chapter 175

Daybreak in Northwich was met with the sound of a trumpet.

Commander Nicholas had mobilized Northwich. All the men of Northwich were assembled for drill as was a requirement for citizenship.

Commander Nicholas

Brother stood beside him, in Pequin armor carrying a spear and shield, a sword in its scabbard.

Nicholas was abrupt.

“Men, I have sent messengers to our connections in the major surrounding towns, and to the king of La Longi. The Carsiolians will attack. They have been sailing along the coast under the guise of trade and assessing our defenses. There is disbelief among the royals as we have been at peace with them for decades. The temperature has changed.”

“We are small in number but strong in spirit. We are going to construct an earthworks around the perimeter of Northwich. If your dwelling is in the way of the defensive plan, it will be toppled and built over. There are other plans in the works that we will inform you of as necessary.

Murmuring began amongst the men and many raised their hand to speak. Nicholas ignored them.

” While I hate Skip Maxwell, the owner of Penelopes for his weak disposition and half heartedness at drill, he is a shrewd merchant and we have an ample supply of food in the event of an attack. Thank you Skip for your contribution.”

Everyone was stunned at the bluntness of Commander Nicholas, especially Skip.

“Our women and children will begin to gather firewood and large stockpiles of stones as the men work on the defenses. We will need missiles to hurl at our enemies.”

“There are a lot of questions. I have selected Baldwin Mailer to answer them for you.

Baldwin Mailer was famously heard to yell,
“Boo that Man” during the battle of La Longi. It is now the battle cry of the 16.

Thane Emerson’s house has prepared a royal breakfast for the men. Eat well. After breakfast, we will begin.”

Netty Berengar’s Breakfast. It would be a long day.

Would Ishaan like to have some mercenaries stop by the Puking Peasant Inn looking for work?

In case yes, how about their leader is named Chandra and they are equipped with white armour, and long swords, with knives hidden in their high boots?
