Brothers Campfire A Memorable Dinner -An Ongoing Tale Chapter 150

Wayne and Violet Nixon, a little shaken, left the wedding for their newfound life together.

They agreed to celebrate at a little hole in the wall they had never been to.

A thin, smaller woman with white hair and a sweet disposition greeted them as they entered.

When given a menu, they were unable to decide as the language was foreign.  They made their selection randomly.

As they waited, they stared into eachothers eyes and smiled. They were in love.

A lady dressed in black from head to toe rose from where she was sitting. Wayne and Violet knew her as a regular to the Puking Peasant. Recently, she was hailed a hero for pegging Galvin the Bard with a dinner roll.

Mel

Hello, My name is Mel. Are you newly wed?

“Yes, this is the best day of my life!” Answered Violet.

“Let me ask you something, Violet.”

She handed Violet a black rose.

“I’m a drinker,

sometimes overthinker,

Do you think,

You married a stinker?”

Wayne and Violet laughed. She was a little charmer, that one.

“Well, I’m off

In record time,

Screaming Peaches

Off to find.”

Mel paid her bill and left.

The interior was full of stunning artwork of lands far away. ” We should go there sometime, Wayne!”

” Perhaps we shall, dearest Violet.”

The fare was unlike anything they had seen.

Two thin sticks were provided to eat with.

Wayne and Violet would return. The fare was unusual, but delicious.

On their way home, they stopped at a coffee shop for cake and coffee. A poet was reciting for coin.

Violet,

Such a tiny treasure

Shall I try

To paint her portrait..

( links to the poet’s site. Let her know how awesome she is in her comments)

“That’s Beautiful!” Cried Violet! ” This is the best day ever!”

Violet

Well I don’t think Mel could have asked any more of you,
Than to have written such a dark and mysterious debut!

I loved it!! Even more so that she’s now gone down in Puking Pheasant history for ‘pegging a bread roll’
(such a brilliant turn of phrase!)

And you know for a fact she’s got that black rose tattooed somewhere very indiscreet too!! 😂😂🖤

I do. I will pay respects to my Grandmother soon. I loved her fierce.
