Brothers Campfire on Wails, Snails, Tales, Campfires and Coffee.

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

What is a snail without a shell, a Beast without a forest, a Bard without his song or Brother without his Campfire?

Some things are not working out well in my headspace and I chalked it up to being confined to my home in a sort of Covid house arrest.

I have made a point to stay active in online church attendance and have been active in writing, reading and yard work as much as possible but something was missing.

Alone time can rough a person up, but I a do pretty well in it. I was missing a campfire.

I have had a Campfire in my backyard for around 6 years and needed the bricks for an emergency project and dismantled it. If you look closely in the picture you can see the rectangle where it once was.

That all had to be changed and soon, so I ordered the necessary materials for pickup. It did not take long to build, but it did take a while to research.

The first layer is about 6 inches of loose gravel and the second layer has 9 gaps to draw in air. After a while, the top layer of bricks get hot enough to keep kettle water at coffee drinking temp so that is cool. (I mean hot. ) Having a surface to keep things warm is important.

After I have made a few adjustments, I am hoping to layer on some refactory cement inside to extend the life of the bricks.

The design was inspired by a lot of folks and I do not wish to miss anyone. To Dad, Beloved, Auntie Beverly, Ashley, Amber, and others, thank you!

Now, I can ponder such things as, what is a snail without a shell, a Beast without a forest or a Bard without a song.

You are welcome to the Campfire!

You look ready for long summer nights around the fire. I can hear it crackling from here.

Good job. I think the cement idea to keep the bricks is good. I was away from the computer all day but I have not forgotten to work on the problem. I’m really sorry.

Very nice, nephew! 👍 The design turned out quite nicely. Yes, the cement idea is good to extend the life of the bricks. Keeping the coffee hot is critical! 😁☕️ Amazing job 👏. Teamwork makes the dream work…your yard is complete again! 😁 🔥

The self-restraint life of the coronavirus disaster continues. Meanwhile, the campfire surrounded by nature is good for refreshing. I hear birds singing in nature.

That is quite all right. It will go well with my Kermit the Frog voice.

I think you would like him. He grows a lot of hair when the moon is full.

I’ve thought about getting one of those portable fire pits for the back yard. But I live in Texas, which is, in a way, its own firepit. And yours is way cooler. Or hotter.

Ha ha! Hotter! I opted not to get a portable as they tend to burn out with the high temperatures I make when I do beginner blacksmith stuff. Texas…. Love Texas. It is the real land of enchantment. New Mexico, step aside. 🤠🔥

That looks pretty spiffy and hopefully your mind will spark the fire. We have a free standing pit but it’s been raining and storming a lot with high winds took out a two foot wide tree out back and took of some high branches. The turkey vultures have a resting spot now
