Hello Friends! I am on fire here at Willow Manor!
The great Lydia Potter challenged to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge. It was covered in the world renowned Prudentia Sit publication.
Because She Double Dog Dared me, I was on the hook. She is my sister after all and she did it first as a right of passage into adulthood.Video Here
I googled the Ice Bucket Challenge and found that it had an origin in ALS Awareness
I discovered that you typically have 24 hours to complete the task. Wikipedia
So last night, I told my Beloved about it and she nodded, asking me to get her a brownie when I picked up ice at the gas station. My son opted to make them instead so I left that to him. Great Job Son!
I already had 10 pounds of ice in the freezer so I only bought 10 more at 7-11 to total 20 Lbs
When I arrived home, I determined I only had one bucket so I reached out to Herb Thiel, my father. If you want to know how that went down, the video is here. If not, skip this part.
This morning was a brisk 48F or 8.8 C to all the rest of the world. I began my preparations. First, I divided the 20 pounds of ice in equal portions and put them in my buckets. Then I broke the ice up with a hammer to reduce injuries.
Working quickly, I added water to my buckets.
Game on! It was nearly 7 AM and the Temperature was nearly the same. I need to use You Tube as a way of showing the event.

I immediately had trouble breathing as evidenced in the video. I told my brain there were 15 buckets and began counting back! I think it was the quick change of temperature that did me like that.

My mom and older sister were talking and I was in the room watching it. My mom stopped, looked at me, and said “Lydia looks like she’s about to hyperventilate!”
Awww.. Thank you! Watching yours gave me confidence. I was in control im my mind when I did it, but I think I would have gotten sick if I did not warm up fast. Water is a weakness for me.

What I mean is, that you don’t have to do something just because you were dared to. You are allowed to say no if you want to. I don’t cower and obey just because someone says to do it – I only do it if it’s 1) not dangerous 2) not very silly 3) I actually want to do it and/or 4) I’m bored and have nothing better to do.
