Brothers Campfire Explores The Bible As It Happened

Hello Friends!

I have just completed reading the Bible through for the year using an application called You Version. As you can see, I am committed to reading every day.

One of my favorite things about the Bible application is that it can be set to read to you while on the road; I spend many of my long drives listening to the Word of God.

There is no reason to take your hands off the wheel with You Version!

The Bible is actually a historical narrative, telling a story and giving direction for salvation and daily living. One of my favourite Bible plans on the You Version application is called “As It Happened.”

I highly recommend this application to everyone. The King James Version has 783,137 words and to read it cover to cover will provide a lot of insight as to the whole picture of Biblical studies.

The Bible has an influence on even the small things. As I looked at my Geo Realm status, I realized that I have conquered nearly everything possible nearby and obtained a very high score by walking around.

I discovered two things.

1. There is not much more to do on the app other than upgrade things.

2. The developer plans to reset it all this summer.

Scripture came to mind. A man named Solomon had everything a man could wish for and came to this conclusion.

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 2:11 KJV

When I realized the game would be reset, I thought about the new players getting to take my in game castles away.

Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.
Ecclesiastes 2:18 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/ecc.2.18.KJV

Solomon, a man who had everything came to this conclusion:

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV
https://bible.com/bible/1/ecc.12.13.KJV

I wrote this part about Solomon and Geo Realm to demonstrate a lifestyle change that resulted from reading the Bible.

I discovered that material things can accumulate, but they do not provide joy. I found that real joy and contentment comes from following Biblical principles.

Friends, thank you for stopping by! If you have any questions, or need assistance with the You Version Bible App, don’t hesitate to ask!

Have a beautiful day!

Ecclesiastes is one of my favorite books. You should read it through as a sermon, in my opinion, to get the most out of it.

They say belief is a powerful tool.

“For as a man thinketh in his mind, so is he”

            – Book of Proverbs Chapter 23 Verse 7.

            Haha!
“Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so is he.”

            -Srimad Bhagvad Gita

          3. Ishaan Sharma says:

This could be a great activity. How about you give me a verse from bible, and I will attempt to find a parallel?

          4. Ishaan Sharma says:

The word would be ‘aum’ I s’pose.
But if you want a verse, I will find one. I have read a similar one.

The hindu belief says that God created the world with the word ‘aum’ or om.

Would you like me to find a verse, or will this be fine?

            Some more:

Bhagavad Gita: I never depart from him, he never departs from me. (Ch. VI. 30) New Testament, Bible: He dwelleth in me and I in Him. (John VI. 57)

            And

Bhagavad Gita: Be assured that he who worships me, perishes not. (Ch. IX. 31) New Testament, Bible: He that believeth in me shall never perish, but shall have eternal life. (John III. 5)

            And

Bhagavad Gita: I am the beginning and the middle and the end of things. (Ch. X. 20) New Testament, Bible: I am Alpha, Omega, the beginning and the ending. (Rev. I. 8)

            And

Bhagavad Gita: What sacrifice, almsgiving, or austerity is done without faith is evil. (Ch. XVII. 28) New Testament, Bible: Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (Rom. XIV. 23)

          6. Benjamin says:

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

          7. Ishaan Sharma says:

He by whom the whole universe is constantly pervaded is the Knower, the Author of time. He is sinless and omniscient.

It is at His command that the work which is called earth, water, fire, air and akasa appears as the universe. All this should be reflected upon by the wise.

Salutations to the Divinity who is in the fire,
            who is in the water,
            who is in the plants,
            who is in the trees,
who has pervaded the whole universe.”
            -SVETASVATARA UPANISHAD

am the taste of pure water and the radiance of the sun and moon.
I am the sacred word and the sound heard in air, and the courage of human beings.
I am the sweet fragrance in the earth and the radiance of fire; I am the life in every creature and the striving of the spiritual aspirant”
            -BHAGAVAD GITA

These give the same basic idea of God’s omnipotence, omniprescence and greatness. I could find some more which are more related. I found these in a hurry,

Fair enough. People use it all the time. I use it when gaming as a team.

It had a dark view. Also, most people on internet say its unsafe.

I went over the Bhavishya Purana I mentioned. Its first section talks about Jesus. Second about genesis as per bible.
It mentions ages of all the first men like Adam, his sons etc. and talks about Noah’s Ark etc as well.

            But it might be edited.

I appreciate the insight and the level of study you have put into comparing the the Bible and Hinduism, Ishaan. It may be that God is leading you into deeper places with Him.

Hindu texts. Vedanta means end part of vedic texts. It includes three texts, The upanishads, The brahma Sutras and the Bhagvad Gita. Short, full of meaning and hinduism in its purest form.

          14. Ishaan Sharma says:

They are written as songs. I can give some links in case you would like to check out.
Some of the upanishads can be read in under a minute. But traditionally people would spend 4 years trying to understand them.

          15. Benjamin says:

Respectfully, I do not plan on reading them, but I thank you for asking. I have one direction I am going with my life. I do enjoy the insight and the conversation.

It depends on your communication skills. Being friendly helps when connecting with folks.

I read the bible, but not as much as I think I should. I’ve been wanting to pick it up and read stories. I’ve got a copy of the NIV bible, but I really want to get my hands on a KJV instead. That app could be the solution to my problem.

It could be the solution to many problems! I do like the KJV as the NIV blatantly has deleted scriptures. Thanks for dropping a line, Friend!

Oh. The Bible app reads the Bible to you and makes plans you can read with someone else. It also organises it in chronological order.
