Miller Time And The Legendary Sphinx

Hello Friends!

As you know from my stories about the Puking Peasant Inn, I am not a fan of alcohol.

In my part of the world, there is another problem….miller moths are everywhere. They are in every conceivable place imaginable.

Yeah, everywhere. One crawled on my clothing today and laughed at me as it plotted my demise. It is going to sneak in my car and jump out at me while I am taking a sharp turn on a bendy highway. Tell me the little guy isn’t sinister.

I was made aware that we had another invader in our yard. The hornworm. They eat vegetables and their leaves. They grow up to be very large moths.

It is blurry due to the cloaking device.

I instructed those at the house to leave it alone until I could identify it. The video below tells me all I need to know.

In all seriousness though, this is an excellent sign. When I moved here several years ago, there were no birds in my trees and the only little creatures in my yard were roly polys, spiders, and ants.

I believe this is from excessive chemical treatment of the lawn. Bug and weed killers take a while to break down and allow life to thrive.

This type of moth is a rare sight where I live and I am glad that an ecosystem is reestablishing itself.

  1. I took a call on a claim one time where the guy was driving an older car, something from the sixties, if I remember, where the vents come directly from outside. He was driving along and opened the vent and the car was full of Miller moths. He couldn’t see and was freaked out and went off the road. It’s funny because the only injury he sustained was to his pride.

          1. Ok! It is starting to get warm! I am thinking about taking the ducks outside.🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥and the goose🐤

          2. It is getting the snot and boogers out of your nose. It is called picking your nose in the US! You can choose your friends and that is picking as well!
Sometimes the jokes are hard to understand because of this, but it provokes intelligent thought in my opinion!

  2. My grandmother had a closet that she kept with mothballs lol… she used to tell me so they don’t eat her clothes lol 😄 … I never saw a moth in her house but whatever… I always remember that with moths

    – on another note… we LOVE Roly Polys ❤️❤️❤️
