Brothers Campfire I Am The April Fool

Hello Friends!

As some of you know, my routine is getting up before daylight, making a pot of coffee, reading scripture, then typing until it is time to get ready. Turning on a light, I was shocked to see this.

Shocked I say!

One of the members of the household opted to make construction paper cut outs of insects and put them in the lamps.

This was totally unexpected! I am totally the April Fool! In addition, I found additional pranks.

Toothpaste on the sink handles
The sink was sabotaged

The garden gnomes did it. The gaurd of the garden was distracted. I don’t blame him. He works 24/7

That’s really funny to me because I read a comic strip called Harley https://www.gocomics.com/harley where the main character is this big, burly biker dude. An on/off theme is that he always locks his doors at night because he is afraid the garden gnomes will come in and do something to him while he sleeps. I’ve heard, but cannot vouch for the veracity of it, that the night before the Battle of Waterloo, garden gnomes snuck in and switched Napoleon’s coffee for decaf.

Ah! This reminds me of the pranks I pulled off.
I handed out sweet boxes filled with stones to five houses, claiming it was my father’s birthday. Three of them accepted.
    Haha!

That depends on the meaning of celebrating Christmas.
We get a holiday, and we go shopping and stuff.
Small kids get gifts under pillow. In areas sometimes someone become santa and gives toffee to small children.
            But that is about it.

            How d’you celebrate Christmas?

          2. Benjamin says:

We celebrate the birth of Jesus. We worship, exchange gifts, and eat pizza at my home.

          3. Ishaan Sharma says:

            That must be fun.
In India, Christians live in clusters.
Certain areas are full of them and elsewhere they are absent.
            My city has no church.

          4. Ishaan Sharma says:

Well Christianity came mostly through the colonials. Wherever they formed Colonies, Christianity increased.

There are lots and lots of missionaries in India.

          5. Ishaan Sharma says:

It is a good religion. Most of its teaching are very similar to Hinduism.
Most Christians I have met are calm and peaceful people.

But of course, every community has some extremists. But you can’t judge a community by the extremists.
I know not much about Christians, but from what I do, they are a great people

          6. Benjamin says:

Well, you are indeed a spectacular individual as well! Thank you for your perception of Christians!

          7. Ishaan Sharma says:

Just wondering: What is your honest perception if hinduism?
From what I read online, many christians hate Hindus and the religion, mostly due to ignorance.

          8. Benjamin says:

I love all people, to include you, friend. I do not hate you. I do not believe the same things as you, however.
One cannot serve Jesus and adhere to Hindu beliefs at the same time. I believe in one Lord ,one faith, and one baptism. It is completely different that having many deities. I cannot stress enough that it is not Christ like to hate a person.

          9. Ishaan Sharma says:

            Good to hear this.

Just one thing: Hinduism believes in one God.
            His name is ParaBrahma.
He takes three forms of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. These three forms are one. These Three forms take further forms to help humans.
All Gods are considered ultimately one.

Hinduism advocates that there is one destination, but a million paths. Christianity is one of those paths, as per Hindus.
But of course, I respect your point of view.

          10. Ishaan Sharma says:

Just wanted to clarify one more thing. Hinduism is not polytheism. It is polymorphism.

And second: Idol worship is a new addition to hinduism. Ancient texts regard it as not needed, but leave the choice to individuals.

          11. Ishaan Sharma says:

Hello. I am curious to learn about christianity. I have 2 questions:
            1) can a non christian read the bible?
            2) if yes, can you suggest a certain portion of the bible which can be read to learn about Christian philosphy?
I don’t want to read all the stories. Just find out the main theme and beliefs of the religion.

I am grateful for your help

          12. Benjamin says:

            Great Questions Ishaan!
            1. Anyone can read the Bible!
            2. I would recommend a Water and Spirit Bible study to find the main theme.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
            John 3:5 KJV
            https://bible.com/bible/1/jhn.3.5.KJV

Then I would read Acts 2 for the plan to find salvation.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
            Acts 2:4 KJV
            https://bible.com/bible/1/act.2.4.KJV

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
            Acts 2:36‭-‬39 KJV
            https://bible.com/bible/1/act.2.36-39.KJV

          13. Benjamin says:

For a longer read, Check out, Genesis, Luke, and Acts. That is several days of dedicated reading. You are welcome. I respect you as a man, friend. Thank yoi for telling me your perspective and asking hard questions!

          14. Benjamin says:

Absolutely! I am glad we had this discussion! You are quite the scholar-

          15. Ishaan Sharma says:

            Just read the first one.
Is rebirth by water meaning that being baptised is a second birth?

          16. Benjamin says:

Yes, it is called a new birth experience by some. Thia is the washing away of sins and the burial of our fleshly desires. We are buried with Jesus in baptism.

          17. Ishaan Sharma says:

            Thanks for the insight.
            Just completed the second link.
I have duscovered a lot of similarities between our religions already.

Just like baptisations, In hinduism too, there is the second birth when a child joins the school of the teacher, and starts the service of god.

Also, the vedas, the holiest texts of hinduism, were written when the saints heard a great voice, which spoke through them.

          18. Benjamin says:

I copied and pasted the reading so you could read it. It is likely a mistake.

          19. Ishaan Sharma says:

I have read the first 8 chapters.
            It is interesting.
Btw, your site is throwing all my comments into the bin

          20. Benjamin says:

When I get to a computer, I will take care of the comments. I am excited that you have read so much!

          21. Ishaan Sharma says:

Thanks for guiding me. Will continue to read.
In case you are ever curious and want to learn about Hinduism, do tell me.

          22. Ishaan Sharma says:

            It sure is.

Today, is the day of birth of Lord Ram, 7th avatar of supreme Lord Vishnu.
            Happy ‘Ram Navami’ to you!
