Brothers Campfire God’s Pantry

Hi friends!

I heard a song that is called “God’s country” playing and I looked at the lyrics. Some guy named Blake sings it. I listen exclusively to gospel music, so I do not have a lot of insight on the fellow.

Anyway,

I rewrote my own version of this song and call it God’s Pantry. Let me know what you think.

Right on the corner of this shopping center

There’s free food for those who have nothing

Got to feed the man, when food cant be found

This is God’s pantry

They collect food , and give thanks when its donated

Cause it brings relief and a real full tummy

We put the food on our plate

I guess that’s why they call it God’s pantry

I took a taste of the free pies

Sittin here with my family  trouble every side

Givin praise to my Maker for a food line

Hot dogs cooking

Saved the leftovers now been found

Hungry rustled in the skin, poor man’s lost and found

The devil thought he had me, hunger didn’t abound

This is God’s pantry

We churned the milk and worked until the butters done

We make a steak and bake bread on Monday

And fill us up again

‘Cause we’re proud to eat from God’s pantry

(Yeah, yeah)

I took a taste from the free pies

Sittin here with my family trouble every side

Givin praise to my maker for a food line

Hot dogs cooking

Saved the leftovers now been found

Hungry rustled in the skin, poor man’s lost and found

The devil thought he had me, hunger didn’t abound

This is God’s pantry (Yeah)

God’s pantry

I sure care about others needs

And the condition of the icebox of my friend

When you go to bed it’s fitful sleep

From God’s pantry

I took a taste of the free pies

Sittin here with my family trouble every side

Givin praise to my maker for a food line

Hot dogs cooking

Saved the leftovers now been found

Hungry rustled in the skin, poor man’s lost and found

The devil thought he had me, hunger didn’t abound

This is God’s pantry (God’s pantry)

I took a taste of the free pies

Sittin here with my family trouble every side

Givin praise to my Maker for a food line

Hot dogs cooking

Saved the leftovers now been found

Hungry rustled in the skin, poor man’s lost and found

The devil thought he had me, hunger didn’t abound

This is God’s pantry

Exclusivities prohibit future expression, perhaps there’s a song out there that has the melody; and is missing the words. Consider recording this. Food for thought.

I don’t have the voice for it, but I have written a few songs from scratch. I have sang those in front of small groups.
      However,
I don’t think there is a lot of profit in recording for me, so at this time, Brother’s Campfire is my creative outlet.

Thank you for the kind words.

“My voice isn’t much, but I often used to tell folks I was a singer, and that I’d sung for crowds of up to three thousand. I didn’t tell them I was talking of cows, but they heard my voice and probably guessed.” Flagan Sackett – Galloway – Louis L’Amour

I agree! I heard you sing I’ll fly away very nicely! You have talent. Never outgrow your roots.

Well thanks, but that was a while back… I’ve had some singing lessons/training since then.

Nice! I like to listen to a mix of music- keeps the voices silent- probably because they’re confused… LOL

Thanks Tanya Sheik! I appreciate it. I was inspired by the sign and the song!

Organizations that provide food for those in need are very important. I’m always glad to hear about a new one.
