Brothers Campfire Builds… A Campfire

Hello,

Benjamin from Brothers Campfire. Happy Father’s Day to all of you father’s out there!

I am on vacation, a use it or lose it if you will. There aren’t a lot of plans at the moment other than our 18th anniversary. We will be celebrating at the Olive Garden on the 21st of June.

I am mentally and emotionally exhausted and will use this time off to reset as external pressure has been tough.

With many and probably any online endeavors, blogging my real name is show business and the show must go on.

I am not fishing for any kind of uplift, I am just keeping it real.

Thursday was spent trying to hammer out programs and political stuff. Friday was a rerun. Friday evening, I was asked to come over to my neighbor’s house and fold a twisty tent thing. It took some doing, but we solved the problem through collaboration and bruised egos.

Afterward, Isabel notified me that the toilet was broken. Company had come over, and we educated them on improvised flushing methods should they need them.

Bright and early Saturday, we upgraded toilet accessories.

And off to weeding the garden it was for me. The garden is smaller than normal, but there are a lot of moving parts right now.

With that done, I set out to pick up an animal trap I had lent out on the Nextdoor application. When I scrolled through, I found a free AC unit and dropped by to pick it up. It works pretty well for the price and I installed it in my daughter’s room.

I went back out and worked on the grapevines. I needed clips to train the vine, suet for the birds and stickers for one of Isabel’s scrapbooking projects so to the dollar store it was. While shopping, I received a call; Isabel wanted Angry Achios. Now, why the Achios are angry, we may never know. Perhaps it is because thay know they are to be eaten.

Who could tell. All I know is that I had a lot of scrap wood that was piling up and started a Campfire. Then I says to myself, “self, you are going to burn more than a Campfire with all that wood so close.” I moved the wood and ensured there was ample amounts of water around to keep things under control.

I wasn’t able to process it all, but I was off to a good start.

No roasted marshmallows till the braces are off… too much of a pain to clean!

I think bonfires at the beach are still allowed but reserving a firepit is nearly impossible and I’m pretty sure they still close the beach stupidly early (sunset?).

I’ve been debating about a backyard propane firepit, ot a chimnea, for years!
