Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!
I do not have a lot of business typing today as I am pretty out of it.
I will say that I am glad for a Willow Manor blend of herbs and spices that included chocolate peppermint grown on site.
I am seriously considered growing a larger variety of herbs this year for tea preparation. You need a lot of dried leaves to have a good cup.
I have made a habit of getting up in the morning and preparing for the day in responsible fashion to keep my mind off of being sick.
It is good to shower, shave, comb your hair and get fully dressed to have a better outlook on the day.
Today I retired these relics.
They have over two hundred uses between the two of them. Rinsing them thoroughly and letting them air dry has prolonged their use. They are not close shaves, but money has been saved in 2020 with them that has been allocated for other uses.
I am now using this stocking stuffer from Christmas. Perhaps a subtle statement was made by my Beloved.
As we cannot go anywhere, the day was relatively mundane. I watered and fed the ducks in preparation of precipitation.
Bubbles loves the snow and spent most of the day outside. She’s that kind of girl.
With little energy, I played Minecraft with my children. It does not help that stubbornness prevents deviation from my diet which is under 2000 calories. This puts the hurt on.
On the subject of food, something we tried for the first time was ordering groceries online. We thoroughly disinfected the trunk of the car and popped the trunk on arrival.
The store employees loaded it up and sent us on our way.
My Beloved purchased a Monster drink to make things feel a little normal. I was plussed!
Unfortunately, and to my surprise, I could hardly taste it. This is a Covid side effect that I had not encountered.
Out of curiosity, I tested a few things and can only taste extremes of salty and sour. I tried brushing my teeth and could only get a tinge of minty freshness.
Dinner was a curry flavored quinoa with lentils. I could taste none of it. Everyone else enjoyed, so that is good.
My beloved checked my carbs on the lose it app and made me a bowl of chicken flavored ramen noodles. They helped me feel better but still… Tasteless.
Have any of you had this symptom? Did your taste come back? I spoke with someone who had Covid months ago and they still cannot taste much.
My Aunt had Covid. She also couldn’t taste much, but it came back in a few weeks. She is okay now. Praying for you!
Oh, well good to know! I just ate a pickle and could hardly taste it! Thank you for the prayers!
One of my family members had COVID, too. We were living together at the time- and she couldn’t taste or smell a thing for three whole months. Hope you feel better!
Wow! That is a long time! Thank you for your kind comments!
It really is… she was super frustrated after a while, but was ECSTATIC when she got her taste back!
I bet! Is your family holding up ok in all this?
Yeah, we’re okay! Thank you for asking (:
👍
I’m so sorry bro! Praying it comes back soon
Ha ha thanks!
My husband lost his taste buds but they cam back after about a week. You will get there. It’s annoying not being able to enjoy your food!
Perhaps I will lose a few pounds then!
😆
Hey, I can afford to. 🤠🔥
Amazing that you got 200 shaves from one razor! I’ll have to try your method. I think food will taste really good when your sense of taste returns.
Haha! I don’t know that I saved any real money that way. I have to make numerous passes. Keep the razor immaculately clean, even if you have to boil it.
Did you save an awful lot using the razors for that long?
Probably not.
However…. It all adds up. Haircuts,
car selection, sales, discounts, interest rates, meal planning, buying bulk, etc all add up to a culture where she can save for the things we are interested in.
Hello benjamin ,
You offer us your logbook and I thank you.
The races delivered, good point!
I love your little bitch, she’s a good girl, very funny and so cute …
This story of loss of taste is really annoying, maybe it can help you a little with your diet, but what strikes me is your acquaintances who still have not found the correct taste of food
Courage to all !!!
Kisses
It looks like an inappropriate taste for things is a theme here! My ducks, and no me!
I have been doing fairly well in my diet. December 14th, 2020 I was 201. I am in the 180s now.
Bubble’s is a good dog. She herds the animals about but is kind to them like they are family. I could not ask for any better.
Have a beautiful day Corrine!
I haven’t lost my sense of smell or taste. I hear those who have lost them experience mild symptoms, though. And indeed, it lasts for a long time. The person I know is in his second month without smell or taste.
Bummer. I am drinking peppermint tea while typing this response and it tastes like water. I suppose it is better than more severe symptoms.
Two months is a long time!
How is the weather over there, Jo?
Rainy. But I love it. I prefer it to snow. I’m not a big fan of winter.
If it is to be cold, I wish for snow. Living in semi arid, we love the water!
Hey,
How you get well soon.
Help Kritika! I feel icky! I appreciate your kind words!
Take Care Storyteller. You will get better soon. 🙂
Thanks, Kritika!
Ha ha! I meant hello!
Hello 😀
Ha ha! Scroll up to see I said help. Help is good too!
Get better soon. Still avoiding Covid in our isolation here. Vaccine rollout is slow as it seems to be everywhere right now, but at least our son who works on hospital Covid wards is now on the list. Stay safe. Allan
I hope you get a vaccine soon! Wishing you the best!
Your taste will come back but I’m surprised you didn’t taste the curry. Around here We had Jalapenos hot sauce curry cinnamon and peppermint around because the strongest flavors were taste-able in a small way. Things will get better.
Let’s Laugh In 2021
Thank you, Mr. Ohh. I cannot even taste hot sauce or vinegar. I appreciate your concern and encouraging words!
Yes, joy on 2021!
Ugh.
Ugh.
Praying, without ceasing, for all of you.
Thank you. Having a prayerful mindset throughout the day is helpful. God is in control and He hears His people!
You’re welcome. Amen and Amen!
God… Hope you become fine soon❤️
Can’t …. Taste….Coffee. 😬
As I commented before (I’m catching up with your posts backwards), both my boyfriend and I had no taste, for about 2 weeks. One of my relatives hasn’t been able to smell anything for 3 months post covid now. Also, if you’re pinching cents, buy a reusable razor. I have an old school stainless steel one where you just change the blades. Less waste and a one time investment, lasts forever and it’s a great shave because the blades are sharp.
I will have to look into that. Thank you for the advice!
My roommate lost their sense of taste with COVID. They had a lot of trouble eating food. Then, about three weeks after their quarantine ended, I brought home candy from work and gave it to my roommate, since it was all stuff that I don’t eat. They scarfed down the whole bag, so I went “Wait! Does this mean you can taste again?!” (Because why would someone eat anything so quickly if they can’t taste it?). My roommate eyes got wide and they were like “Oh yeah!” and proceeded to go to the pantry to eat every strong tasting food that we had.
So tasting super sugary, super fatty, and highly spiced food came back suddenly after about three weeks later. Everything else came back slowly over the course of the next month.
That is encouraging! At the time of writing, it was miserable. I have quite a bit of returning taste now. You are right. One of the first things I could taste was chocolate.
