Brothers Campfire World Building On Android

Hello Friends!

I have been collaborating with Ishaan Sharma from Ishaan Sharma’s Blog on various world building pursuits recently. He is creative, intuitive, and driven in his work. I am writing this post based on our many onlines discussions.

Today,

I would like to create a small resource post for world building and provide some insight for others who worldbuild as well. I use my phone almost exclusively for my site so this is Android heavy on information. Perhaps those that use a PC can use this information as well.

When I started writing, I just dove in. Here are some tools I wish I knew about at the beginning.

MAPS

Maps are important even if you do not show them in your story. It helps you know where your characters are going and how they get there.

At this time, I do not like any android map making software for large areas. There are some Dungeons and Dragons type generators but they are for mostly indoor places and are not graphic heavy.

I have found the free version of Inkarnate to be a great starting point for knowing where my characters adventures will take them. I advise doing this work on a computer, but it is marginally possible to work with on Android. Basically, you draw a landmass and put stamps on your map to create a world.

It really is easy and as described!
A Project I Am Working On.
It is really as simple as it looks!

While I do not have an Android recommendation, there are several apps I am dabbling with in conjunction with Inkarnate.

An app called Custom Maps can convert my existing maps as .kmz files that can display on Google Earth and that may have potential down the road.

HERALDRY

I am not a fan of paying a subscription fee unless it is very good material. Finding heraldry for a Reasonable fee with lots of options is painful. I have been through the wringer looking for decent recommendations on this one.

As a workaround, Logo Maker Plus really helps me. I used it exclusively to make my Northwich Warrior banner. In my opinion, It has many components necessary for your royal needs. It is not all inclusive. Your creativity is required.

There Is A Lot Of Material To Choose From.

GENERATORS

Do you need World Building Ideas?

Don Jon and Seventh Sanctum are sources for more random generators than you can shake a stick at.

Random encounters, town generation, names, places; You can get distracted at these sites!

Well, worldbuilder, here is a start! If you have any resources you would like to share,(PC or Android) leave a description and link below!

Just realised a surprising fact. I had a map of a world since a long time drawn on a piece of paper. I required it to have a single standing village, which used to be a part of a great enpire once. Your map of La Longi fits exactly into that one, and the village of northwich is exactly at the point I had marked for the last standing village!
Maybe this could be a future connection between our stories?

Hello friend. The logo maker didn’t work for me, but I succeeded in making a logo/flag using mspaint. It would be nice if you reviewed it on my blog.

It does, but I want to make new symbols and stuff. Maybe looking at my banner will give you an idea
