The Day Hike 3/9/2020

The Day Hike

Hello Friends!

I took some individuals to an educational institution first thing this morning. Then, my Beloved and I decided to go for a long walk.

We had walked for less than a minute when we found a pile of clothing for free in front of someone’s house. The pile included  a Lula Roe skirt, dresses, tops and a cardigan. In addition, there were two Cashmere sweaters, one of them Lord and Taylor brand.

Because we resell for supplemental income, this was a literal treasure trove and we had to turn back with the loot.

This would be a rural and urban hike and we began walking through a neighborhood to a park.

We came across a memorial for someone that had passed on. I had walked this way before and there are children’s toys at the site. We paid our respects and went our way.

Cutting through another neighborhood, we saw everything to include the kitchen sink.

Passing an ominous tree, we crossed under a highway.

Passing a waterway, I was met by Jeptha The Beast, or at least his likeness.

We entered a path surrounded by dense trees

and were met by unsavory spart pills.

Distracted, we nearly ran into an electric fence. Yikes!!

It was a beautiful mix of yellows and browns accented by green algae in the water.

The vastness of the open plains must have been something for the first settlers. Immense!

While you are here, let’s play I spy. Do you see it?

She was on the prowl!

The semi arid is a hard land full of memories of long ago.

The yucca plants surrounding me have many uses. One day I should do a post on how to make string with the leaves.

As we traveled, we were met by a nightmarish disease.

Don’t drink. It is a vice that destroys more families than the current scare.

Back in the housing, we followed the grey brick road.

Then we were met by wildlife in disguise.

Stopping at the market, we purchased two kid’s meals from Culvers. It was tasty and filling.

Reflecting on the hike

All good things come to a close and we followed the railroad tracks back home.

At the end of the day we had logged 26,000 steps on our fit bits and I recruited over 12,000 troops on Geo Roam.

Thanks For Reading! I hope your day was as great as mine!

  1. Sounds like you two had quite a day!
Question: do you or someone do paintings or drawing pictures based on photos you or your beloved have taken? Cause a few of those images from your hike looked like paintings and drawings (and they’re EXCELLENT!)
