The Brothers Campfire Nextdoor

Hello, Benjamin from Brothers Campfire here!

Lately, a keen interest in bartering has brought me to the Nextdoor application.

Items aquired have included local fruit and vegetables , 41 pickup trucks of compost, a forklift fork for an anvil, and a tour of a mini horse ranch. I have also met dozens of folks with similar interests in person.

Not surprisingly, any social networking app has more drama than it is worth and I have been suspended for three days.

I can think of numerous reasons for being suspended under the circumstances listed.

For example, someone may post and ask, What is this spider?

Comments look like this;

It’s a black widow! Kill it with fire!

It’s a brown recluse! Flee your home!

Hi, I am Bob from Orkin… I can free your house of these for a small fee…

Call fish and wildlife … They will know.

Thinking myself the voice of reason, I replied as well.

Hey, just looked it up online… It seems to be a variety of wolf spider. They are pretty common and love to eat your garden pests.

I…. have just became disagreeable to someone just then. Frequently, I see these.

Well, for the example below, I am going to go ahead and hit publish .

His name is “Dick”

Other posts, I am no doubt guilty as charged; My replies are disagreeable.

In Colorado Springs, there is an Army Base, Air Force Bases, and train tracks. In some areas, it is noisy 24/7 in the sky and on the ground.

Well, some guy posted that he did not like the recent air show or the noises that had been keeping him awake.

Another user gently welcomed him to South Colorado Springs.

For brevity, the poster became irate and said he had lived here all his life. I took a peak at his profile and commented that he says he was born in Australia. I also screenshoted another one of his posts.

Sorry, Nextdoor. You are right. Everyone suffers when I am disagreeable. He sure did not like when I called him out.

In my final admission, (I have commited more Nextdoor crimes)a poster stated we should take the homeless into our homes. I posted that he should lead the way as an example us all. Many followed suit and the poster edited his post to make our comments look bad. I called him out on it and was suspended.

I have learned my lesson. I will stick to bartering on the Nextdoor Application .

I hadn’t heard of this app but I love the idea (the bartering aspect anyway). Unfortunately, offensive, disagreeable sorts like you have put me off joining 🤪 (or at least Nextdoor’s ridiculous suspension policy has).

I wish we could bring back the bartering system! How dare you post such offensive comments, Benjamin. Haha! Of course, I am kidding. I like the idea of the app, though. Seems like they need to work on their policies, though.
