Brothers Campfire Mel’s Tattoo -An Ongoing Tale Chapter 160

Hello Friends!

True to my word, I plan on giving lots of shout outs with my stories.

Jessica is one of the most original content creators out there! We share an admiration for Dr. Seuss!

Now, the story. ( Note: I take no responsibility for website content when you leave Brother’s Campfire)

The Puking Peasant Inn

The Puking Peasant was alive with patrons.

A blend of cheap smell goods, hot dinner rolls, body odor and steaming buckets of frothy puke permeated the perimeter.

Frothy Puke

It was Galvin’s the Bard’s off day. Violet had moved in with Watchman Wayne and no longer was employed at the inn.

Violet

The crowd was a mix of regulars and sailors from elsewhere.

A visitor complained that he had been robbed of his cheese stash by a scrawny hooded villain with a dagger.

The Scrawny Villain has been stealing cheese.

The regulars laughed. Some of them had been taken as well. That was the way of things in the dock quarter.

The docks were not a safe place at night

Mel, a mysterious patron known for her dark wit and accuracy with dinner rolls, climbed on a bench with her parasol and proclaimed,

🖤You, my man, are within reaches,

if you buy me pint of Screaming Peaches. 🖤

Mel

Two men raced to the counter and jockeyed to be the first to quench Mel’s thirst, but to no avail. Someone beat them to it.

There was no end of sailors that passed through falling for her wiles. Mel had a bottomless belly and never seemed to get drunk.

Not content with just a jostle

Mel was not quite through,

She shouted smartly,

🖤Get a glimpse of me tattoo!🖤

The regulars boo’d,

The sailors swooned,

For glimpse of uncovered skin

For pint of Peaches

They did think

Her heart they would win.

The sailors gathered

 round and leered

Waiting for the sight,

intent and hard they peered

For glimpse of inked delight.

Mel had the sailor’s attention. She looked each on in the eye. The regulars could see the devil in them and shook their heads.

Following Galvin’s fabled phrase she ever so sweetly said,

🖤For tattoo showing demonstration,

Fill this bucket with donation!🖤

Seamen filled the bucket with months of wages with no considering of tomorrow.

Mel began to look insecure and remorseful.

🖤Really, fellas, I’m not sure I should. That is a lot of money and it wouldn’t be proper.🖤

Assuring her of payment for the unruly deed and swearing they would tell no one, she did the unthinkable.

Mel rolled up her garments to reveal her tattoo. The men gasped, then became angry. A deal was a deal.

She had such lovely forearms.

Mel’s Tattoo. They always fell for it.

The storys are loosley based on reality, but definitely fiction. The short stories are all part of an ongoing tale. My posts about personal life might be a little exaggerated but not too much! Stand ups like Marty the Motivated Mower are fictional.

He is bigger than life, The Reader. It is hard for people to “wrap” their minds around.
You see some of the push back I received when I revealed him. I will let the truth be known, eventually.

Genuinely, one of the funniest things I’ve ever read!! 😂

You have Mel down to a tee – including her forearms!! 🤣

I’m so glad both her and her bottomless belly feature down at the Pheasant!

    She’s magnificent! 🤪🖤

I am wondering if you have anything to do with the recent spike of views on this post. I forgot I wrote this until I looked at my stats. 😆

Indeed, it’ll be me my friend.
I hunted it down (as I foolishly didn’t save it in my reader at the time) to pass a link to Matt at A Prolific Potpourri. I’ve been enjoying listening to his telling of your tales and had mentioned I was honoured to have inspired one of your characters.
I loved re-reading this again so much! 😊🖤

Way cool! I am glad you enjoyed it enough to come back to it!

          3. YouLittleCharmer says:

Absolutely! I could be wrong but I’m sure Mel made a few other cameos in the ongoing tale. Wish I’d saved them all 👍🖤

          4. Benjamin says:

Perhaps, friend, I can find her dark enlightenment .. Or is that a contradiction?

          5. YouLittleCharmer says:

Perhaps, but it’s one that I wholeheartedly agree with 😊

If there comes a time where a little distraction may help at the moment, then maybe a wee trundle back down memory lane wouldn’t be such a bad thing 🖤🖤

          6. Benjamin says:

Way nifty! Dark Enlightenment it is then. Perhaps, … New memories can be made sometime!
