Brothers Campfire Jeptha’s Journal -An Ongoing Tale Chapter 163

The moon becomes fuller. I try to ignore it. I run through the forest. I AM RAGE AND BITTERNESS. I seek the flesh of predators.

The forest completes me. THE VILLAGE TREMBLES WHEN I HOWL. THE WARRIORS HUDDLE TOGETHER. THEY ARE WEAK.

I AM BEAST.

I must control myself, journal. I FIGHT MYSELF. WORST ENEMY IS ME.

I feel the pain from my wound. Wispy Sapling’s husband hit me with an arrow. It heals, but not fast like normal.

THAT MAKES ME ANGRY. BEAST HURTS.

Calm. Calm. Beast must stay calm. Voices in the distance. They knock on trees with sticks. I knock back. Then they cry in fear. They Howl. I HOWL BACK. They want to talk to me but they are afraid. I AM BEAST.

If they were nice I would see them. They are fierce forest people. They hunt me then call me in the night. They need to make up their minds.

I will keep moving.

I am Beast.  Bye Journal for now.

I do enjoy Beast’s story (all the others too though.) But Beast has his complexity show through his simple words. He’s a tragic character but he has his moments of hope too. He keeps moving.

Indeed he does continue! The first post revolves around him. Northwich would not have been rebuilt by Brother without the stones being thrown. I appreciate the compliment, C. D. Sanders!
