Huy Fong Sriracha, Thailand Catsup

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

Here I go again, reading the news. I was reading this Huff Post article about hot sauce.

https://www.huffpost.com/entry/most-popular-hot-sauce-each-state_l_61e1accfe4b0c6802ee6302c

Apparently, Huy Fong Sriracha is top on the list for North American purchases.

Sriracha is a delicious paste made from chili peppers, sugar, salt, and vinegar. It measures in at up to 2,500 Scovilles.

Sriracha can be put on hotdogs, hamburgers, grits, ramen, and practically everything.

This product has merit, but here at the Campfire we have translated the Thailand born sauce to a more familiar word. Here are a few variations.

Ketchup, Ketsup, Catsup

Calling Sriracha a hot sauce is like calling Decaf a type of coffee.

Sacrilege.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the stuff, and may consider putting it in a bowl of ice cream under the right conditions, but it is NOT hot sauce to me.

Ha ha! Gotta live my passion!

Hey, I would like to ask…. What would you think about doing a guest post here at the Campfire?

I think it would be cool to hear about holidays that you observe as they arrive. 🤠🔥

Now that would be worth documenting for Uncle Carter. But it does not sound real hot, especially compared to the stuff you and the 13 year Veteran of Life eat.

It is not ketchup to me. It is a bottle of vinegar+fire!

Several years ago there was an uproar about fumes from the mfg plant causing problems in nearby residential areas. I don’t know why it was all-of-sudden when the plant had been there for yeats. I think the had to add special filters to their exhaust system.

A former BFF’s fav “meals” were Sriracha on white rice, and Sriracha in chicken noodle soup. LOTS of Sriracha.

Hard to say… not cold-type sick but I realized she was anorexic. She ended up losing almost all her teeth in her early 40s.

Thinking of you as I eat chicken mole which, even when smothered in sour cream, is too spicy-hot for me. You’d probably only taste the chocolate. I’ve already taken an antacid

I worked. Some of the key annoying people are working from home. Thos week has been hard on my body but okay mentally.

Nope… I bet not. You have to take care of you. no one else will.

My desktop app says it 59F at 12:38pm. Cold for us… I wore a fuzzy jacket today. No rain forecasted through Feb 4.

          5. leendadll says:

The app just decided it’s actually 67 outside. I won’t know till 1:30.

We supposed to get high winds through the weekend. Santanas, I think (hot/dry/strong firestarters). Even in Long Beach, which usually doesn’t get more than light breezes.

          7. leendadll says:

The intense winds still haven’t reached me (12:15pm Sat). The last time, we got nothing in Long Bch but I got to work, 12miles away, and “tent” for the outdoor employee break area was destroyed. The finally fixed the frame last week but there’s still no tarp/cover. Crazy how weather can be so different in such a small distance.

I would say. There can be a great difference between North and South Colorado Springs

          9. leendadll says:

I recall leaving work in beautiful sunshine and arriving, 30 miles away, unprepared for the pouring rain. It was rare.

👌👌👌✒😋 I must admit that I am a great lover and grower of chili peppers. Some say he doesn’t perceive the taste of the food because of his spiciness … I say that chili peppers just open the taste of the food. 💖🌶🌶🌶

I don’t call it hot sauce either ― it’s more of a flavoring, really! The stuff I have in the bottle shaped like a skull, now, THAT’S hot sauce …

I’m a Cholula guy, myself. I don’t call it hot sauce, I call it Cholula. And now that I’ve discovered Chipotle flavored Cholula, there is definitely no other sauce for me. I don’t care for Tabasco . . . too vinegary.

      I like Cholula!
It is another flavor of ketchup to me.
I would take Cholula over Tobasco.

      Never tried Chipolte Cholula

      Thanks for stopping by Jeff!

It’s always a pleasure stopping by your campfire. It’s kind of like Forrest’s box of chocolates. 🙂

I am a huge fan of hot sauce, chilli and anything spicy. And yes, I agree Sriracha is a bit of a dressing or something
