Brothers Campfire Gall, Fortune Cookies, and Raising Young Men.

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

Today was going to be the start of my new job assignment in relation to training.

That is until last night when I had some serious pain that I could not manage. I tried motrin, gas medicine and hot packs to no avail and went to the emergency room.

Instead of a pain killer, I got lots of questions on why I felt the way I did and got to whimper it out from 1 AM to 3:45 AM on a metal chair.

I almost gave up and suffered at home. Finally, I got a room and some medicine.

I will look at writing a schedule out and planning pain more effectively in the future.

For those of you that know me, you are aware that I do not use painkillers unless it hurts something awful. I wish they would have helped me out sooner as I did not see packed rooms and the emergency room vibe was relaxed.

So, what was it?

It was Gall, an unknown nemesis that did me in.

No. Not Gall of the the Hunkpapa Lakota or descendants from the Battle of Little Bighorn,

But my gall bladder. In about 4 hours of the writing of this, I will have it removed.

There are two ways to remove it. The hard way and the easy way.

We will soon see. I guess the new job will be put on hold.

Meanwhile, the Twelve Year Veteran of life drew me a quick get well card and affixed a fortune cookie paper to it.

Who raised this kid?

Praying all goes smoothly. That 12 yr veteran of life shows that the nut doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Absolutely. Standing up against the odds and looking fear in the eye is powerful stuff. I appreciated the encouragement from him.

I also appreciate you, Auntie Beverly! Thank you for assisting my Beloved and for your prayers. You are amazing!🤠🔥

Amen, nephew! You are a tremendous example to both of them. They are blessings and strong in their walk with God because of you and your Beloved. You have shown the Veteran and his sister how to face opposition the only way possible, by looking to Jesus, the Author and….. No weapon will prosper, the Veteran knows this because of you!

Appreciate you as well, nephew! It was my pleasure to assist your Beloved and to keep you and everyone in the Willow Manor in my prayers. Thank you, you are amazing as well!😎

Get well soon. I was at hospital yesterday, too. They took my hemoroid. It was disgusting experience and yes, getting ER is a big deal in this country. You wait at least 1-2 hours.

Yes of course, no problem, as we are engraving with corundum (a very fine powder) the engraving on metal will really be on the surface. You can’t go deep like with tools that really dig into the material.
I’m sending you a link with a French factory who does exceptional things, maybe that’s a lot more what you’re looking for

There is a very famous engraving artist in the US who does this on e-cigarets, but I just remember he is based in California, maybe you can find the info;)

    So sorry I missed this.
I saw that you’re already on the mend. That’s a relief!

After many months of describing “phantom” gallstone pain after my gallbladder was removed, I was finally diagnosed with bile duct obstruction.

    I hope you’re feeling 100% soon!

Me too! I share the info in case anyone else experiences it. Multiple docs blew me off. One good doc diagnosed it from just my description, no exams needed!

I have heard that it hurts like heck, so glad they could fix you, even if they did make you wait with no painkillers. You hardly scream “drug seeker” I am shocked they didn’t just give you some of the strong stuff!

          2. Benjamin says:

I don’t know what they were thinking either. They had my medical file I am sure. When I went home I took three of my prescription painkillers and am Motrin only. Flush addiction. It is evil.

Hope you are feeling much better since your surgery! You may notice some digestive changes. When I had my gall bladder out, I immediately became lactose intolerant. Lactose-free dairy products are available. You may also experience some other problems. Since having Covid19, these are giving me more trouble. There are pancreatic enzymes, oxbile, and several other supplements that might be helpful. My gastroenterologist is prescribing me something new which I should have in the next couple of days. I hope you don’t have any of these problems, but if you do, at least you know that they may be related to the removal of your gall bladder, and can check out your options. All the best!
