Brothers Campfire Reads the News

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

So… I am acutely aware that half of you all hate Elon Musk.

Personally, I don’t care one way or the other. If you like him, cool, if not, cool.

I will say, the leadership of China are troubled by the thought of individual expression with Starlink.

The tension he causes totalitarian governments feel makes me happy in my heart.

The GIF above expresses it.

Is it pronounced “jiff?”

Dunno.

Tha Atlantic says the GIF is on it’s deathbead.

Popular Mechanics wrote about the death of the GIF as well… In 2018. The article is conveniently hidden behind a paywall.

That was four years ago, an eternity on the ever moving internet. Mostly dead still means a little bit alive in case you were wondering .

I have learned that if I wander/ wonder? too far, I get lost.

Now where was I? Musk and GIFS. I am such a space cadet today.

Speaking of space, I poked fun at Captain Kirk recently and that wasn’t very nice.

I am deeply ashamed as I was influenced by popular culture to do so.

There was a football game recently where they booed a Cardassian, so I felt all of Star Trek was free game to this enterprising comedian.

Unphased and unbelieving? You can read about it here.

It would seem that Cardassians just want to go out and have fun like the rest of us.

Well, that is all for today. I am off to work a 12 hour shift.

Musk seems a product of his times, but some of what he does may be necessary. I don’t hate him. I hate paywalls, though! And I think it’s a hard “g” on GIF. After reading “space” “death” and “sad” regarding Captain Kirk’s real but brief flight, I was too well reminded of my 6 months of barren New England winters these past 1000 years, and stopped reading that! Hope your 12 goes well and safely!

Jif is peanut butter; Gif is that thing around the internet that doesn’t taste good with jam.

I have no opinion on Musk as I have never ventured on to the Twitterverse. Seems he is dilly dallying and I suspect that is a manouever on his part to get this deal through. But …who knows?

Not Sure. I think he had a beef with them over Trump being removed from the platform. Maybe he is flexing to flex. I am not sure!

I remember that Trump was banned. Musk defends a lot saying Freedom of Speech for all is necessary . But that is another issue that can be difficult to quantify. Whew! A lot to think about.

Wow! I did some research and I’ve never seen so much controversy on the pronunciation of gif. I’ll stick with just saying g-i-f! lol

Musk likes to stir the pot and I kinda like that.

I like well placed pot stirring, particularly if there is a tasty morsel inside!

I closed my twitter account. Guess, I have a bit of a mean streak, I mocked one of my husband’s favorite football team players and he threw me under the bus to his sons.

I don’t think it’s related maturity. I think it’s link to a chosen lifestyle which I don’t see eye to eye.
