Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

Join me and I will spin a tale about Amey Kale.

I met Amey Kale on LinkedIn as he sat in his apartment in the southern part of Maharashtra State, Sangli city, a small, sleepy city.

We chatted about Gandhian ideals and philosophy. Spiritual depth was explored and we connected on a variety of topics.

He was pleasant and offered me Bengal tea, my grandmother’s favorite. Though a black coffee drinker, I readily accepted. He was vibrant, enthusiastic and made me feel as though I was no longer in frigid Colorado Springs, but rather in India.

We hit it off immediately. I manage Brother’s Campfire, and he is a marketer for a charcoal manufacturing company.

Amey is an adventurous one willing to cut off ties and make his mark on the world. Covid has slowed him from enrollment in Sinclair Community College in Ohio.

He is not a stranger to reaching out and developing friendships abroad. He was quick to proudly proclaim me his fourth American friend. As a marketer, I know he has already met up with numbers 5, 6, and 7. This man has a plan.

Amey set the pace of conversation, talking of his fondness of the United States Marines. One of his friends had served in the Gulf War and made quite the impression.

He asked me about Colorado and the drinking scene. I offered him a Monster Energy drink and he gratefully accepted.

It was 10:00 PM in India and 9:30 AM here in Colorado, so we agreed to meet up again on another day. I suggested that he save the energy drink for later.

The days of hanging out with Amey were met with vigorous exercise. Pushups, situps, running, and cycling are customary to him. I did my best to keep up.

I asked Amey about his sleepy little town and asked how he livens things up. There was a faraway look and he became nostalgic, describing old soccer matches, movies, and music. The 90s and the turn of the century were important to him. It was then that he met the love of his life.

There was silence, and he had called me a friend. As such I waited as he gathered his thoughts.

They had been sweethearts for a long time and out of the blue she left, blowing him off. Looking back, he ascertained that long ago she only considered him a friend.

We had cemented our friendship and I shared a similar experience.

Not one to dwell too long in the past he spoke of his dream to emigrate to the U.S.
He had been hitting the books hard to learn about American history and culture.

I found out then what all the intense working out was for. There is the chance for him to become a United States Marine and work towards citizenship.

Amey surprised me with the American Civil War song When Johnny Comes Marching Home. This guy was serious about becoming a citizen.

Amey Kale, I am glad to have met you. If you end up reading this, I think you have the right stuff to be an American Citizen. Soon, I hope you can proudly proclaim “Semper Fi”
