Brothers Campfire Quarantine, Kings, Free Parking and Discount Cuts Courtesy of Campfire

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

It had been a long time and I am now off of quarantine. I will be returning to work on Wednesday. My lung capacity will need to improve and being able to walk up and down the street will help me.

There is a lot of catching up to do and first thing this morning I took my car to have a nail removed. Sitting in the lobby was nifty. There were people there!

Something that disturbed me while I waited was the Television network MTV that was playing.

Horrifying.

While we have copious technologies in our home, We do not have a television or cable. This will not change here at Willow Manor.

Anyway, I saw the host making fun of a obviously sick woman vomiting in the toilet. On the young ladies back, a scripture was tatooed. They zoomed in on the tatoo and read a scripture of peace, mocking her in front of who knows how many viewers.

Nope. Not my children.

Perhaps I am old and set in my ways. Out of touch. I am cool with that.

I am glad that the repair was under warranty and went on my way.

I am in process of refinancing my home and needed to get a legal documents. I was surprised that the parking in downtown Colorado Springs was free.

Downtown was remarkably empty.

I saw very few people in the usually busy streets.

I saw statues of our local population of handpicked and possibly cherry picked heroes, but few people.

Then I remembered… It is Martin Luther King Day. If you haven’t heard his most well known speech, I left a link here.

He was a nonviolent activist, an example for today’s day and age.

Now, I have read many of your blogs and seen many ranges of beliefs.

Here are mine.

Right or Left, I do not advocate for violence. I am totally cool with lawful assembly and peaceful protest. Martin Luther King was an outstanding example.

Well, that’s my take. We walked around the big city for a bit and purchased a new set of hair clippers. These will pay for themselves with 2 cuts. I expected quite a few more before they burn out.

It was pretty cold out, so besides the foray into the big city, we mostly stayed inside. I spent a lot of time chatting with folks on Linked In about job openings and opportunities. Hateful as it is, I have blocked a few folks for wasting my time or attempting to with Multi Level Marketing. Web searches of company reviews can be a great resource.

Pyramids, beautiful works of art…or rather… exquisite tombstones

Dinner was hearty.

A baked potato, steamed broccoli, and baked chicken was a great finish to the day.

Well, that is all for now.

Thank you all for your support while we have been ill. It means a lot to me. You all are the best!

If anyone needs to experiment with those clippers I think we are all off quarantine for now. Yes, a non-violent activist would be a good example. I’m so glad you don’t have my grandkids hooked on the garbage that hollyweird spews out. That guy in the statue, Lt Zebulon Pike, is likely your shirt-tail relation.

Glad you are out of quarantine and hope work goes well. As to the continual public shaming by the media and those in power, I am never sure why people think it makes them look better if they shame someone in difficulty. Stay well. Allan

Welcome back to the world. Now you know why I don’t have a television, even if I do speak about one in my blog!

Laughter may not be the best medicine, but it’s easiest to take
