Pushing My Beloved Around

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

Monday we went on a five-mile hike. I was unaware just how hard it is to push a wheelchair that far.

We traversed a few different terrains to include broken sidewalks, a dirt trail, a few hills and we even climbed an embankment.

After stopping for coffee at a convenience store, Isabel decided to push me around. To compensate for her left arm, I leaned back hard on her hand to hold in place so she would have a level of control.

She pushed me from the dumpster in the background. Perhaps she can take me home and clean me up. Sometimes you can find amazing discarded items near an army base.

Tuesday was spent leveraging influence to get paperwork filled out for my employer so I can take days off through the year as Isabel works towards rehabilitation.

She received her AFO, which is a leg brace of sorts. That also required numerous phone calls ans using organizations to our advantage.

She also had her first speech therapy, completing the tasks pretty well!

After the work and therapy was completed, we went on a date. There was hot stuff between me and my Beloved.

Great story. It looks like your beloved is fighting hard to get her stamina back. After suffering a stroke, some people give up an atrophy. Good luck on the recovery.

Five miles is a loooong way to push a wheel chair .When I broke my leg my daughter used to push me in a wheel chair and she could manage a lot less than 5 miles. I love your date! You are both on my prayer wheel.🙏

This is such a lovely post, Ben. Amd I’m so thrilled to read how you’re taking care of your wife and of her progress. And her pushing you in a wheelchair only proves the massive progress she’s made. I’ll bet that within the year, she’ll be fully recovered at the rate she’s going! I’m so happy for you both. 😊😍😊😍

Lovely photos, Ben. Wishing Isabelle a complete recovery! Pushing a chair is hard work. My late husband was a quadriplegic. I had to run to keep up with his motorized chair which could go 8 miles an hour. We travelled a lot for his work and used a manual chair. away from home. I remember the hilly streets of Puerto Rico and the Great Wall of China very well!
