Brothers Campfire on Omicron, Coffee, and Life Preservation

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

Last night I picked my daughter Savannah up from the hospital as she decided to take a day with her mother.

We drove around a bit and talked about her day. She was a big hit at the hospital after singing and playing the piano for the patients and nurses.

We stopped by Starbucks and she ordered some sort of Frappuccino with chocolate and caramel.

I ordered an Americano. The man at the counter asked of I wanted cream or sugar and I laughed. I exclaimed, “I like my coffee tall, dark and bitter!”

The room was all of a sudden WOKE and every one stared. Oh well.

WOKE

Today, Savannah went off with friends to go Christmas shopping.

Meanwhile, me and the 13 Year Veteran went shopping for clothing at Goodwill.

When we went to the fitting room to try some things on, we found that they are closed due to COVID. I just know it will spread through the fitting rooms like Omicron.

OMICRON, The Transformer

The good folk of Goodwill told me that there is a generous 14-day return policy and if the clothes did not fit I could return them. Weird, but ok.

Off to Walmart it was then. I was able to find one pair of dress pants his size and utilize a fitting room. Walmart doesn’t care about saving lives from OMICRON as much as Goodwill apparently.

We found other things as well.

I am used to my Beloved doing the shopping. There are a lot of changes. I found out from PetSmart and Petco that you are “required by law” to give your name, address, and phone number to purchase a feeder rat.

Illicit Rat Sales Must Be A Problem

After finding nothing else noteworthy, we elected to eat some Chinese takeout. While we waited, we noticed a candy machine. In faint lettering it states, “25¢ A HANDFUL.”

We were not sure whose handful it would be so we kept our quarters.

We had ordered sweet and sour pork and paid 7 dollars more than what the menu said for some reason. I shrugged it off. Expecting something like this,

Without The European Metal Thingy

We recieved this. Frightful few of them.

Not Sweet and Sour Pork

I sampled one and they tasted like liver. Now, I like liver, but it isn’t what I ordered.

After returning, I was assured it was sweet and sour pork and sent on my way. I am no expert in such things, but was unable to eat too many of them. Even after losing my gall bladder I can stomach pretty much everything, but the life-preserving part of the brain forced me not to.

Perhaps they were reheats from the night before.

I am not going to trash a local family business that is struggling. It is Christmas time. I probably will put some distance between us for a while though.

We squandered 23 dollars. Afterward, the Thirteen Year Veteran made hot sauce, one of our favorites.

Habanero, Jalapeno, Onion, Garlic, and Lime

After a hard days work, we went to Dutch Bros and ordered some refreshing beverages. He got a Pink Flamingo and I had a hot chocolate.

Well, that is my ramble for now. I will be seeing my Beloved tomorrow.

I was reading a book at a coffee shop once when a Wiccan church came in and starting having some sort of meeting. There were like forty of them. I tried to leave quietly.

Well one of the guys wanted to get a job at a crematorium and some young lady was thinking about apprenticing herself to a witch who practiced magic rituals from ancient egypt, so weird.

I disassembled a morgue incinerator and did not have a face mask. I have heard of walking dead….. I often ask… Was I breathing dead?

That does sound weird. I work as a volunteer coordinator now and I schedule a lot of things loke that for the offender population. I hear a few things that are pretty weird. I had to photocopy a sigal a couple weeks back and order a shadowing book for another. Weird is right! 🤠🔥

We don’t have Dutch Bros out hete, except maybe in Solvang (bad pun… Solvang is a weird “dutch” city in cental Calif).

I would have spent 25cents to satisfy my curiosity. I would not have overpaid for bad food.

Not wanting to deal with fittings and exchanges, and recently ordered 2 identical coats from Target, planning to keep whichever fit better and return the other. They arrived today and as near as I can tell the model was 7′ tall because the knee-length coats nearly reach my ankles!! They’ll both get returned to a store. Or donated…

Dutch Bros is an amazing company that donates a lot of money to charities. I like the work they do. Thanks for the inside joke by the way!

I don’t usually buy my coffee drinks but would do so at an ethical/give-back option.

I don’t either. Conventional coffee pot works for me! 🤠🔥

What’s wrong with saying that about your coffee? Of course, if people want to be offended by everything they should probably stop living in the real world and dive into the Metaverse. I wonder if anyone would have blinked had you said that with your wife standing next to you? As for the food, sounds like a restaurant knowing they are being cheap and figuring the buying public isn’t like you scrutinizing the product, and overcharging because they need to make a profit as underhanded as possible over the holiday season.

I agree Matt, some folks seem offended pretty easy. A Metaverse will be tough for some as well I bet!

I agree on the food. It was poorly done and they gouged us with overcharging and poor quality. 🤠🔥

I think all of our fitting rooms are open now finally, but man, it is not easy buying jeans for rapidly growing reluctant shoppers without the ability to try things on. As if the pandemic hasn’t been hard enough to deal with.

It is a hassle trying to return things and the money has to be paid upfront. Yeah, I have a lot of learning to do with my wife laid up!🤠🔥

Sometimes I wonder if the whole sweet and sour thingie is just to cover up the taste of whatever mystery meat they decided to put in. Not a fan of this kind of mystery. Have a great day Benjamin. Allan

Yeah. I agree. I would have had to pay a few day’s wages to buy clothing I wasn’t sure was going to fit only to return it in hopes the store was good on their word to give me my money back. My trust level was a little low. 🤠🔥
