Hello, Benjamin from Brothers Campfire here!
There is nothing new under the sun.
According to the news, there was a big scandal on the Great Lakes about using fishing weights to make fish weigh more during a fishing competition.

It is an old story.
The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County was written in 1865 by Mark Twain, but in his story, a frog was weighed down so he could not jump.
Mr. Twain gets some bad press every once in a while for writing plainly, but he had insight on human nature. He simply lived in a different time. Perhaps they were just not enlightened like we are today.
As I sit here slurping coffee and processing my anxiety of building a zip line on this fine Mother Cabrini day, https://www.cabriniday.com/
I think Christopher Columbus sailing to the American side of the pond on the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria.
We honor him no more, for he was likely a murderer, a slaver, and a sexual predator.
Enlightened we are, for we replaced his day with Cabrini in Colorado.
Columbus was not remotely a saint, and personally, as long as I get a paid holiday, whatever.
However, there is nothing new under the sun.
In our enlightenment of tearing down monuments and changing holidays, there is little outrage for our current villans.
Ghislaine Maxwell worked with many movers and shakers in our present time and is likely accessory to murder, slavery, and is most assuredly a sexual predator.
Despite her political and financial resources, she was convicted and sentenced. The evidence must have been overwhelming.
She is putrid, scum of the earth, but nearly 300 days into her sentence, mum is the word on who she provided the service. Perhaps we will know a few hundred years from now,
These world leaders and politicians will go unchecked, writing their own history books ommiting the countless victims they assaulted.
The world is a dirty place. There is nothing new about that.
I don’t have a point per se, I am jist rambling.
A good ramble it is, too.
Thank you!
I agree. I’m surprised she didn’t use the information she had to get a lighter sentence.
There may be more to the story we will never know. She may be released well before her 20 years is up as well.
You are right about that.
I get a kick out of the term, “news”; as you say, it should be called “olds.”
Ha ha ha!
I am sad to say I agree. I wish it was not so but it is. Nothing more to say really.
Rarely, if ever, is the full story ever known – right at the time – and yet, over and over again – there are folks, who do what they feel they must/want to/have to at the time that in retrospect, may have been sinning at the time, considered saintly now and vice-versa – however, there are some things it that get ‘re-told’ through lens of today, that get lost in context – there are other things of beauty lost to sands of time and now? no one knows why! nly that it was good/bad – whatever –
Bottom line – you are right – nothing new under the sun – just the latest ‘version’ of good/bad we all, inherently, grasp on some level on a few core topics – if we aren’t blinded by trending, modern, bandwagons on ‘what is current’ – just now – 😀
Thank you!
