Valley Pets Fountain, Colorado Brothers Campfire

Hello, Benjamin from Brothers’s Campfire here!

Yesterday, in addition to feeling home on the range where the Para Warthog and Ruger Blackhawk play, we went to Valley Pets and looked around.

The place gets a bad rap from the big box stores, but I have had excellent interaction with the employees the owner, and the former owner. It is a family run place and they take pet care seriously.

Frequently, Valley Pets rehomes animals for folks which is a breath of fresh air. Sometimes it is cost-prohibitive to keep a little friend and finding a place that is safe is always a good idea.

Valley Pets is always down for a project.

One time, I was dabbling in raising mealworms for chickens and the owner cut me a deal on an enormous bulk order of them.

Initially, my chicken coop had a kitchenette, but they had too many parties and I had to get rid of it.

Have you ever seen a chicken cook mealworms? It is hard for them to use a spatula, but they managed.

I have ducks now, because chickens are destructive.

You Think I Jest. Chickens Did This.

With ducks, who are a little calmer, I am inclined to shop at Valley Pets more frequently.

I purchase feeder fish for my ducks and it is with regret that I cannot keep them as they are healthy and well-fed. Thos is not without flaw however. I had to return one once because it spoke to me.

Valley Pets, this guy speaks math like poetry. (Note the excellent water quality)

Water quality is excellent for the 40 plus aquariums and they pay a guy to do clean process tank water, ALL DAY. It is impressive if you ask me and a free zoo to boot. Reading the reviews, I see people are concerned about the temperature inside as there is little air conditioning. It is 90 percent a reptile and fish habitat, silly beans.

I was unable to find a website or I would share it. They do have a Facebook Page, but I don’t have an account thank the Lord.

By the way, nobody payed me for this. I just think they are cool.

I have a grandson who would love this place if he lived out your way. He is well on his way to having his home turned into something like this, with his snake, frog, and lizard.

Way nifty! I used to be into amphibians and reptiles and now I am into birds. Valley Pets is very welcoming to younger pet owners.

My husband and I had a bird, fish, and almost anything the kids would bring in. I did draw the line at having a snake in my house.

This is an interesting read. Never had a pet of my own. I have one kid and now think a pet might have been better. Lol! So mean.
    Thanks for sharing this. 🙂

What a cool place. I think it is so nice that you have both ducks and chickens. When we all start eating 3-D printed foods mealworms will be one of our big food sources. I want goats 2 but the HOA says no yet people have chickens and rabbits. Doesn’t seem fair. Cool picks of the farm too. 🤗 Joni

Right, who doesn’t love goat cheese. Plus they are precious. Well at least I would get your vote. 🤗

Hilarious! Oh my, those chicks liked to party in the kitchen! Poor fishies. Some are quite intelligent! Didn’t know you were a fellow anti-Facebooker. Valley Pets seems a very, very good place. Someone may have to drag me out of there if I visited all those cute faces!

There are a lot of critters that just seem so much smarter than the credit we give them. The fish were amazing!

I had an account breifly perhaps a little over a decade ago. It caused me more grief than anything.
