Brothers Campfire Recaps the Week

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here!

It has been a long week of work. For the month of February, I farmed myself out to another department as there wasn’t a lot going on in mine.

Great experience, long hours.

I have been working all of the hours I can because copays are expensive.

I am tired, but I feel productive.

The other day, I was invited to the retirement of an influential Mennonite religious figure.

It was an honor to speak at this function given that I am not affiliated with them, nor am I adept at such things.

I will tell you this; in Colorado, they have recently been marginalized for their religious beliefs.

I stand behind them. They are Americans and have the right to religious freedom as does everyone.

Our Mennonite neighbors have been there for me and I will defend their right to worship the best I can.

You see, I have a right to worship as well. It is a God-given right.

Liberty is eroding in the United States and there may a time where we will be jailed for assembling. It has happened to our Northern neighbors in Canada.

I will go down in history saying nothing when I have a platform to speak on. FYI, on this topic, I will defend my post in the comments section.

Speaking of platforms, you are welcome to listen live at our church when service is held. It will be at 10 AM and 6 PM Mountain Standard Time.

Heritage Pentecostal Church

In other news, My Beloved has graduated to a cane and is buzzing around pretty well lately. Pray for her arm; it is not waking up as fast as we would like.

Speaking of fast, my daughter is learning pretty quickly about driving. Down the road, I think she will be a responsibile driver. Yesterday we tried a busy intersection, went out for coffee, and drove in a field.

We practiced using the emergency brake, driving in reverse and learned about donuts in the mud. We also did three point turns.

When I dropped my daughter off at driver’s education for those many weeks, I thought she would have done a few of these things. I found out that the company wants us to drive with them a bit before they train them. Hopefully, I don’t teach her too many bad habits.

After our driving lessons, Brother’s Campfire had a sizable gettogether. We had more guests than you could shake a stick at. (Keep in mind that you should not shake sticks at guests.)

Me and my son prepared chicken and oven fried potatoes and my mother inlaw made a vegetable tray, cauliflower salad, and a cheese, meat and cracker platter.

Others brought shepherd’s pie, chocolate cake, cookies, soda, and lots of other yumminess.

There were a lot of us and

a lesson in parking may have been in order. Most of the time, I get a few cars set in a direction as a guide to parking, but forgot. Fortunately, I have nifty neighbors.

We have large communities of Amish and Mennonites in Indiana. They farm and keep to themselves. They are good neighbors. I know religious belief has been under fire, but I can’t see why anyone would have a problem with these people for their beliefs.

I think it’s a concern we all have- the taking away of religious freedoms. It’s a very real threat although it may not come soon because Americans still have their guns. However, who knows how things will be 20 years from now. All we can do is pray for protection.

On a happier note, I’m so impressed by Isabel’s progress! She ditched the walker for a cane- this is awesome, Brother Ben! And soon, she won’t even need the cane! 💕 Wishing you both many blessings!

      Isabel is doing great, Cherie!

Unfortunately, I am not sure there are as many people concerned about individual freedoms as there should be.

Oh, trust me! People are waking up in droves. But sadly, the spoiled and coddled younger generations (with the exception of a few) aren’t as concerned about freedom, no. It’s apparent that we gave these kids too much!

So true many children are growing up without values and boundaries. I am on my second set of children. My great grandmother’s values and boundaries still ring true.

You’re right and it’s sad. 💯😢 It’s a good thing that you’re instilling good values in the children you have. I admire you for that. 😊🤗

Thank you. I raised my first set by myself. They turned out to be people that I love, and best of all I liket them The second set are blessed with two parents living on a homestead.

That’s such a blessing! 💖 And no doubt you are a blessing to all these children. Maybe they will save the next generations.

That is the greatest accomplishment for any parent to come out the other side with responsible good people you like and love.

I for one love to speak with all people about their religious along as they are comfortable with it. My husband would laugh before Covid-19 when the Mormons and Witnesses would stop and I would sit and talk with them. I am very firm in my beliefs and I celebrate the beliefs and freedoms of everyone in our country. My father paid dearly for the freedoms of this country. I am glad to see this post. I am so delighted that your wife is walking with a cane.

Healing takes time, but it is definitely good to hear Isabel moving towards use of a cane. 👍 As for America the never great, until people in power wake up and actually care about “we the people” things will continue to only get worse. Life in America is dipping it’s toes in the water of a Communist state.

My brother’s wife grew up in a Mennonite Church in eastern Colorado over by Grand Junction. I really enjoyed meeting the folks out there when I went out for his wedding. Real people.

I’m doing great, thanks for asking. Just this morning, I was able to lift my affected leg sideways in bed. Yay! But I can only lift it for 10 counts. When I tried before, I couldn’t even lift it 2 inches higher but I was able to this morning so it’s really a ‘cute’ progress. I’m thinking of having it at 10 till next week and then add another 10 for the next 2 weeks to come. Hoping for the best!
