An Update On My Beloved (1/12/2022)

Hello, Benjamin from Brother’s Campfire here.

The day started with neck pain. It wasn’t too bad, but it promted me to take an aspirin.

I took the children to school. When I returned, I had to work at it a little, but I convinced my Beloved to go shopping with her walker. We went to a lawn and garden center and perused plants in a greenhouse. It was the first public foray in the walker besides an out of the way park.

She became dizzy after a while so we went back to the chair and I tried my hand with a camera underneath a grapevine canopy.

Recently, I had taken my son to the thrift store to get out of the house for a bit and noticed some handmade pottery. I wheeled on over and we took a look. They were Beloved approved.

Low on breakfast cereal, we picked up our favorites and headed home. We had cereal with our new found additions to the kitchen cabinet.

The lawn furniture table is part of a set. It was gifted by the up-and-coming blogger, Ashley T.

I heard some rustling above me. It was a bird at the feeder! It appeared to be a woodpecker. Perhaps it was a sapsucker, but I don’t know.

Perhaps I was a bit hasty writing this gem.

It was exciting, but it was time for work after our adventure.

My Beloved needed assistance downstairs to get to her retail arbitrage business.

She was able to use the handrail but she is a serious fall risk.

She is slowly working in the inventory of everything. She worked on that with her mother and I set out planning for Willow Manor’s yearly order; some sort of shenanigans or the other.

The order of ducks and geese is coming in early April, giving me time to get settled in with the new normal.

Later, I picked up my kids from school and received a call from my supervisor at work. She is assisting me in returning to work while managing my Beloved’s care.

With certainty on how to proceed with some paperwork, I may get back to work next week. I am certain there is a significant stack of stuff awaiting.

Dinner was amazing! My Beloved and her mother made Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches with fries.

We will go off to church soon. You can listen live here.

As I get ready, I look in the mirror and remember the neck pain. I wonder what it was. Could have been anything.

Sometimes life is just a pain in the neck. But you take an aspirin and do some stretches and it’s back to normal.

That would be a Downy Woodpecker. A male will have a red spot on the back of the head, a female doesn’t.
Glad to hear Your Beloved is improving! 🙂

How sweet of Ashley T! The lawn furniture looks lovely, Ben! And I know the new bowls brightened your beloved’s day! And maybe the pain in your neck was the knowing you had to go to work later. (LOL) Sometimes even the greatest jobs get a little mundane. I’m so glad you and Isabel had a great time shopping and I’ll continue to pray for you both.

Thank you Thattamma! We are doing our best. I will use an ice pack. I try to leave even over-the-counter medication alone.

Yes, that is a downy woodpecker as was mentioned above, the male with the red spot, female without. I have several coming to my feeders. Hope you all have a wonderful day!😀😺🌞☕☕
