Brothers Campfire Rolls at the Puking Peasant -An Ongoing Tale Chapter 120

It was late and she was hungry. Watchman Wayne and Violet shared a basket of rolls at the Puking Peasant Inn.

They carried on and giggled like school children enjoying eachother’s company.

For the Puke, it was unusually quiet. Uneasily, Wayne looked around. The entire room was watching them. A surly tough he recognized approached with a big smile on his face. “Watchman Wayne, where did you ever meet such a fine looking woman?”

“Why, right here buddy, at the Puking Peasant of all places. She works here. “

The man laughed. He was not unfriendly. “I have been drinking here for years and I know every girl that has ever worked here. Quit pulling my leg.” He looked at the girl. “What’s your name?”

“Violet.”

“Nope. Violet is the one with the splotchy face we call Vomit Violet.

“You don’t belong here.

“Wayne, I’m shocked you would bring a girl of this caliber here.”

Violet from the Puking Peasant

Wayne was annoyed. “She lives here, friend.”

“Uh, ok whatever you say Watchman Wayne.

“Don’t let loose of that one, she’s a looker!”

Violet blushed as the man walked away. “How much did you pay him to say that?”

Wayne shrugged. “It’s very late. Perhaps you had better get to your room. I have a long walk back to my place and it has been an eventful day.”

Wayne walked with her to the hallway and waved goodbye. He left when he heard the door secured. One needed to be careful in this part of La Longi.

Violet wondered about Wayne. He was so uptight. There was no hug or peck on the cheek at their parting.

Admittedly, she was exhausted. Everything was a blur.

Morning came all too soon and Violet prepared for work. She looked into the mirror and did not recognize herself.

Her scar was gone! She looked just like she did before Lord Rainport’s son had attacked her!

      Honestly? She’s a woman. I don’t know.
I don’t have the slightest clue how women think!
      We will have to see.
If it was someone like the Bard or Nicholas, I would have a clearer picture.
