Brothers Campfire Dissent On The Trail-An Ongoing Tale Chapter 98

As they came to a resting place, the Beast raged. ” I HATE LA LONGI! THEYARE THE WORST MEANEST PEOPLE. WE ARE ASKED TO COME BACK AND PROTECT THEM. I HAVE NO PART WITH THE CAPITAL OR THE KING.”

The 16 wavered.

One spoke. “We bear the mark of the condemned! Beast is right. The Kingdom of La Longi can fall! Change might be good for this land.”

Another said, ” I lost my life because of my incarceration!”

Sanford Vance, a convicted murderer of the 16 had a way about him that made you think twice. He cleared his throat.

“I was convicted of murder, as were many of you. I am worthy of death and am guilty of my crime. Be you Beast or boy, there will be none of this talk. Every last one of us is in this fine armor because of a second chance.”

The Beast glared at Sanford. Sanford’s eyes were flat and deadly.

” If you want to burn a draughts board with me Beast, make it quick. There’s real fighting to be done breaking the siege.”

Nicholas, the town watch shut the banter down.

It was time to march.
