A Farewell, Gramma Pike Brothers Campfire

Hello Friends.

Today, my supervisor gave me the day off as we will be burying my grandmother.

My Grandmother, An example of strength in difficult times.

My eyes well with tears as I think about it. This will be a hard day for me. I loved her so very much.

I remember my dad’s birthday party several weeks back. I was sitting by her and she leaned her head on my shoulder.

While we sat and talked with those around the table, I somehow knew I had better soak the affection up and I hugged her back for a long time.

I am glad I spent those precious few moments with her before she passed.

It is my intention to encourage everyone to express thier love while they have tho opportunity. I can think of times where I did not and I regret it.

Thank you Kristian. I appreciate your kindness. On a side note, I have used the phrase, ” that really burns my biscuits several times at work!”

Awww so sweet, but hard to go through.
When my great grandmother passed away last year at 100 years old, I realized that it is very important to show love to our family members while they are here. <3

100?! I thought it was pretty impressive when my great-grandmother passed away a few years ago at the age of 96.

            Yep.
I’m surprised you haven’t asked why I’m up so late. Lol good night

LOL! It’s only afternoon where I am, so I keep forgetting that you aren’t on the same time frame as I am. Plus, I stay up quite frequently, so that’s another reason why I don’t notice.

Yes, show & say what needs to be seen & heard before it’s too late. To paraphrase a Mark Twain quote: We will regret the things we don’t do more often that that which we did do. Hoping for you many good breaks from the pain. I know it well.

Thank you! At 96, I am sure your grandmother had a lot to impart to us youngsters.

Grandmothers are very special and very good at creating fond memories to take their grandchildren through difficult times…including the very difficult time when they must leave us.
